I headed up this project at Manufactured — from the first napkin sketch through engineering, prototyping and the production run. Write a few honest lines here about the calls you made: the 3D-printed battery housing, the rotary dial, the solar system sizing, whatever you want a visitor to know was yours.
A first-of-its-kind solar-powered umbrella designed to illuminate Latino street vendors’ carts and create a better sense of safety. These portable units pack a detachable solar panel and a 19,200 mAh battery into a custom-designed, high-strength 3D-printed housing — with a design principle dictating that it be both compact and resilient.
The SOLar Umbrella’s lighting system incorporates a rotary dial, with tactile feedback, for easily adjusting light intensity on the fly.
The Super Slim COB LEDs put out a massive 4,000 lumens of 4000K natural white light. The 19,200 mAh lithium-ion battery pack allows a minimum of 6.5 hours of light at full brightness — even when the solar system is not active.
