Object — Kansu · 2020
The Ob·ject incense burner was inspired by ancient Chinese ceramics from the Youxiantang Collection and my travels to China.
It was designed to be 3D printed in two halves, allowing the printing of forms that would normally be exceedingly difficult to print. The segments are glued together, sanded smooth and spray painted to achieve the final finish — a process that also taught me the tolerances required for parts to connect seamlessly after a finish has been applied.
